Accessibility

The Maritime Museum is constantly working to ensure that all visitors can enjoy its collections.

The entrance to the Lloyd section of the Maritime Museum, located on the mezzanine level, can be reached via ramp or lift; it is also possible to reach the third floor of the building, where the Maritime Museum is situated, by lift.
At the reception of the Maritime Museum and the Lloyd section, a wheelchair is available on request from the reception staff to enable visitors to view the collections more comfortably.

Both the Maritime Museum on the third floor and the Lloyd section on the mezzanine level are equipped with accessible toilets.

All the information panels and captions in the Maritime Museum and the Lloyd section provide texts in Italian and English.

At the Maritime Museum’s reception on the third floor, introductory brochures to the museum’s collections are also available in Italian, English, German, French, Spanish and Slovenian.
The brochures for the Lloyd section on the mezzanine floor are available in Italian and English.

Thanks to a collaboration with the Trieste Integrazione cooperative, part of the Anffas network, captions in easy-to-read language have been produced for some of the exhibits on the third floor.

Thanks to digitalisation projects funded by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia as part of the (PR) FESR FVG 2021–2027 Regional Programme, the exhibition halls of the Maritime Museum and the Lloyd section include 3D reproductions of some items from the collections, which visitors are free to touch and handle, enriching their visit with a multi-sensory experience.

All the video interviews exploring specific themes related to the collections of the Maritime Museum and the Lloyd section are provided with subtitles in Italian and/or English.
